What all the titles share is the importance of the written and spoken word, as well as a call to human dynamism which is what pushes all narratives, fictional and real life, along.

1. ‘Suits’ – Aaron Korsh, USA Network
A well-known American TV series about a fictional New York City law firm. Often more about the entertaining, clever trick and less about actual legal solutions thanks to the unlicensed genius, Mike Ross.
2. ‘The Good Wife’ – Robert & Michelle King, CBS
Another critically-acclaimed TV series based on a fascinating legal and personal drama that is both complex and humane. All details are well-researched, and most importantly, legally accurate. Exciting, compelling and smart.
3. ‘12 Angry men’ – Sidney Lumet
This famous 1957 film is based on a tense, courtroom drama where a jury of 12 men must decide whether to convict or acquit a young defendant. The film explores the power one person has to elicit change. Considered a powerful and provocative tour-de-force, it has influenced many people in taking up a career in law.
4. ‘The Founder’ – John L. Hancock
A film based on the true story of how Ray Kroc, a struggling salesman from Illinois, met Mac and Dick McDonald, and convinced them to create a chain of restaurants, leading to the billion-dollar burger empire. A great portrayal of possibly the most well-known American brand. Unshakable faith in persistence versus the price of success.

2. ‘Eats, shoots and leaves: The zero tolerance approach to punctuation’ – Lynne Truss
This book is both witty and instructive, finally making laborious grammar points fun. Truss takes the reader through the evolution of punctuation through history, (especially interesting in today’s digital era), and guides us through correct usage of those vague little appendages called commas and apostrophes. A must for anyone who takes their writing seriously.
