EHL Success Stories: Start-Up Edition is a series to show support to our EHL Family and, more specifically, our hard-working AEHL entrepreneurs. This project aims to showcase EHL's entrepreneur mindsets, support new and upcoming ideas and businesses. While overcoming a challenging time for all companies, these Start Ups prove that resilience and hard work can overcome any problem.
We are Romain Rosselet and Jonathan Gourmel, both born and raised in Switzerland. We graduated from EHL's Diploma in Hotel and Restaurant Management in 2014. The program is now known as Culinary & Restaurant Management Certificate, aiming to strengthen the students culinary know-how, and developing managerial skills for the Food and Beverage industry.
Treat, is the only delivery-cafeteria 100% made in Switzerland! We provide delicious homemade & healthy lunches made exclusively from local products, and at a very competitive price. Our meals are delivered by bike to all Geneva-based companies and their employees, no matter if they are in the office or working from their homes. We are working on making our services available for all Switzerland to enjoy.
We were tired of seeing people eating poke bowls, Buddha bowls, fast food, which do absolutely nothing to support our local economy. We wanted to launch a good food delivery service for companies by creating synergies between local players and our customers. We are also extremely driven by the ecological aspect of our company and serving healthy food which has not been shipped around the world before landing in our customers' plates. We prepare everything ourselves: every sauce, every dough to create the delicious food which we also deliver.
We delivered our first meals on the 1st of October 2020.
EHL first gave us the desire to bring our own ideas to life, and by doing so, making changes for the better in the industry we love. Secondly, we acquired invaluable knowledge in terms of client-oriented service and the conceptualization of a project. This can be very useful to convince investors ;)
We launched our company in the middle of the pandemic, so we are really looking forward to the end ;) More seriously, I think it somehow benefitted our company because there is no time to rest, and you must constantly reinvent yourself in order to grow your business and secure your source of revenue. Not an easy task, but a necessary one. The biggest challenge for us has been the behavior change towards working remotely.
We would have told them to believe in your ideas!
